2006-07 SEASON SUMMARY

At Regionals, Kiel placed second as a team behind Sheboygan Falls, while also sending three qualifiers on to Sectionals including Regional champion Owen Field, along with 2nd place finishers Jordan Truttschel and Ryan Gaedke.

Truttschel qualified for State at 135 lbs. as a Sectional runner-up.  He defeated Logan Einerson of Lodi in the first round by a score of 6-2.  He then lost to Adam Theisen of Adams-Friendship by fall in 0:48 and to Chad Zess of East Troy by a score of 5-11.

Field also qualified for State as a 3rd place finisher at Sectionals.  Unfortunately his run at the State Tournament was short with a 8-19 loss in the first round to Kenny Konopacki of Monroe.

The 2007-08 team will look quite differently next year, as we lose eight seniors.  However, the upcoming team has potential with 24 returning wrestlers, along with some high-potential incoming freshmen.
